Water Works
All he had done was shrug in response to Ammon. He honestly hadn't taken any offense to Ammon; he supposed because he was so use to being on the go or being snubbed by Tugger for a pretty girl that he never took it personally when someone left or gave him a way out to leave. Getting out of his thoughts, he forced himself to cock his head to the side and listen to Ammon. He still wasn't sure if he was genuine in wanting to spend time with him or if the Mau was still being too polite. But it didn't bother him. He found he was enjoying Ammon's company.
He stood up suddenly, and untangled himself from the blanket he had been snuggled beneath. "Any time you are taking up, Ammon, is time well spent." His eyes were alight with mischief and joy as he held his paw out for Ammon to take. It was a polite offer, but he'd have understood if Ammon decided to stand up on his own two feet. "If I didn't want to spend time with you, I'd have said as much and would already be somewhere else." It was the truth, ironically. It was rare that he did speak the truth nowadays.
He did give a short little shrug, and curved his lips into a pleasant smile. The smile turned into a soft chuckle and he shook his head. "Well, somehow, I normally find myself getting into trouble." It was something he often blamed on Tugger, and with his reputation it was widely believed that any trouble Mistoffelees got into was due to Tugger's influence.
But truthfully, he started getting into trouble on the streets before he ever met Tugger. It was still a rush, years later. "Come on. Lets get out of here. We can do something we'll both enjoy. We'll stay clear of the clubs though. I get the feeling that Tugger takes you to too many of those."
