Family: Open
Personality: Bomba has a reputation for being one of the biggest flirts in the yard, she has no issue with flirting with anyone she comes into contact with, whether they like it or not. It is in her nature to use her flirtatious demeanour to get her way, finding it useful to manipulate poor souls into giving her things, or to further her own social standings.
Bombalurina is a major player in the “it’s all about me” show, making sure she is at the centre of of every conversation or drama. She is most at ease when every eye is focused on her and she will do anything and everything to stay at the centre of attention. The red queen is very aware of how perfect she is; to her it is just a scientific fact that she is better than everyone else, encouraging others to get on board with her way of thinking.
Along with her narcissistic personality, she is also very selfish, never willing to share any of her food or belongings with anyone else, even if she has a large surplus or someone else is in desperate need of it while she doesn’t have any use for it at all. She will gladly flaunt all of her precious belongings in front of everyone’s nose, but should they look at it or breath on it in the wrong way she will quickly snatch the object back up again, making sure that they get it through their thick skulls that it is hers and they will never be able to have anything like it because they’re not perfect like she is, and therefore they are unworthy of such a precious artefact.
This queen is very power hungry, how could she not be with all of her other “lovely” personality traits. This trait is mainly evident in her choice to join Macavity’s tribe after the fiasco at the ball. While everyone saw a monster, she saw the perfect opportunity to gain more power and further her own narcissistic needs, after all how could Macavity not want her? She’s gorgeous!
History: Bombalurina was born into high society London, her parents being pedigree it was to be expected that Bombalurina would be beautiful as well. The human home where she grew up was vast and and spectacular, famous for breeding perfect cats. From and early age, Bombalurina was taught by her parents to use her looks to get what ever she wanted, expecting her to go to a very fancy home where she would be the centre of attention.
Unfortunately, this did not eventuate as planned. When she was sold, the humans did not properly vet the new owners and Bombalurina found herself in a squaller, filled with other mangy beasts. In reality she was taken to middle-class suburbia, to a modest house with a big and beautiful backyard and a few more pets to share the home with. Bomba was disgusted.
Determined to escape the “poverty” she ran away and tried to make her way back to her family, but she wasn’t at all familiar with her surroundings and could not find her way back home. To proud to go back to her new owners she set off in search of a new place to live, where once again she would be appreciated for the beauty that she is.
It did not take her that long to stumble into the junkyard, where she found a group of street cats living together in one big tribe. At first she turned her nose up at such living conditions, but she was soon won over by the amount of attention they paid to her, especially some of the younger toms. She also saw it as an opportunity to climb their social ladder, aiming to reach the top as high queen.
A few years passed, and while she still wasn’t the high queen of the tribe, she certainly had an influence over the tribe and its goings on. But she had become restless as she could feel her social standing going no further and she still wanted far more power.
The night of the ball answered the red queen’s prayers, as Macavity appeared to be a very powerful tom, and he could definitely further the queens own goals. Bomba was quick to switch tribes, confident that Mack wouldn’t hesitate to make her his high queen, after all, who could deny her perfection?
