HAVERSHAM
• OLDER ADULT • JELLICLE •
A gray domestic short hair with rounded ears and a frame that shows he has not missed many meals. Haversham may not be in quite the same league as Bustopher Jones but his well padded frame is rather pudgy!
Family: Bridget (Daughter) Winterdance (mate desceased)
Personality: solidly dependable, this genial Tom takes the responsibilities of both his position with the Tribe and as The Pubs Cat seriously. Haversham can be...stubborn.
while Haversham is one of the first to give new arrivals or acquaintances the benefit of the doubt, he did not fall off the farm yesterday. on the other paw he can be loyal to a fault and can be quick to overlook the shortcomings of his friends.
he does not see himself as a great thinker but Haversham is not hesitant to share the bits of wisdom and experience that he has picked up over the years with younger cats particularly those of the Tribe, some times to their annoyance no doubt!
he can charming when the mood strikes, though he is by no means a roue` of the Rum Tum Tugger's calibre!
History: Haversham never knew his father, and only had his mother Three Belles, for a short time. he belives that he may have had three siblings possibly four. You see his mother was a ships cat and every time she had a litter of kittens the crew would drop them off in whatever port that they were in as soon as the kits had been weaned. He spent his earliest years knocking about the docks until he moved deeper into the city. At one point her was picked up by some humans who fancied themselves breeders and set to stud in their cattery. Not finding the forcing of queens to his fancy Haversham escaped when he was able.
Finally he settled in at the The Lark and Rose, a pub next to a certain theater as their mouser, keeping the storage areas and cellar clear of mice and rats. he may have been small but he was FAST. His youth was spent wild, feral, and free. as the seasons turned he got closer to one of the humans, a Barkeep. Haversham gleaned a weary respect for the controlled chaos that seemed to be the cornerstone of human society. Comfortable, well fed, and secure he began to explore the neighborhood. This was when he met Gus, yes Haversham is one of Gus'es infamous "Friends at their Club", in fact The Lark and Rose is the sight of their gatherings! shortly after he met Winterdance and after a long courting sired Bridget.
His home at the Pub does provide him a steady supply of food and shelter that he can share with others.
Rights of Hospitality : while self imposed, he feels an obligation to those who accept his hospitality.
