- Please be respectful of each other. Misunderstandings are going to happen, so please learn to forgive and forget. However if you are having trouble with someone, then please contact an Admin, or a Moderator.
- You cannot play your character before it's been accepted by a staff member. So be patient and wait for a staff member to review your application.
- Please write your posts in third person. It's much easier to understand.
- Do not have your character in more then one thread at a time. There are exceptions to this rule. If your thread is inactive, or is on hold, then you can move your character elsewhere. Or if your character is needed for an important thread. (Those are the only exceptions to this rule)
- Do your best to use proper grammar. English may not be your first language, or maybe you have horrible spelling skills, we understand. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be understood.
- If you need to speak out of character in a thread. Then be sure to separate it as such, either by brackets, or by putting OOC: at the bottom of your post. You must also let us know when your character exits a thread. And when a thread is dead. So that the thread can be moved to the appropriate board.
- We love active members, but we also know that real life can be a major butt. If you need a leave of absence, intend to be gone for a set period of time or if you are leaving then be sure to post up a going away/leaving thread. So the staff knows what characters are gone and being put back up for adoption, or which characters need to be temped during an absence.
- This goes hand in hand with being respectful, but it will be reiterated here. Let's avoid Out of Character drama. Save all that drama for our characters; to ensure interesting plots.
- Do NOT God-mod. This cannot be stated enough. There may be certain situations were God-modding is all but inevitable, but please PM the member you are in a thread with and discuss beforehand what your characters are going to do, so that god-modding is not an issue. If you find yourself in a thread where combat is involved; then it is essential that you PM the member your character is battling with. Discuss beforehand how many hits each of your characters are going to take, and who is going to win the battle. Communicating will help to eliminate misunderstandings and disappointments in the thread you're in.
- If you are in a group thread, then try and work out a posting order between the lot of you. That way characters, and in turn members, won't get overlooked, and passed by. Everyone deserves a turn to post and be heard. Also attempt to have your character interact with all the characters in that thread, not just one or two. (Unless it's part of your character's personality to be rude or oblivious)
- Your character cannot change tribe allegiance without staff approval. You're character could get kidnapped by the opposing tribe for a plot; but defecting to said tribe needs staff approval first.
- Your character cannot have kittens or get pregnant without staff approval. At the moment there is no real need for kittens and most rper's do not enjoy playing babies/infants/toddlers. However, if it is important to a plot you are working on and its a good plot, then you must seek out staff approval. This is not a guaranteed yes, the staff still have the right to decline the pregnancy.
- On the list of what you need staff approval for, killing off characters. Obviously, you cannot kill off another member's character (without said member and staff approval), as that would be god-modding. You can gravely injury another character, but only if you have the member's approval who plays said character. If you want to kill off one of your own characters, you still need to contact a staff member and ask for your character to be killed off.
- Posting a Work-in-Progress application for a Canon character, does effectively reserve that character for you. However, if you haven't finished the application within a week, someone else can reserve that character and create an application. This gives the second person a week to complete their application for the character.
- You can have an avatar or a signature picture; but if it's of CATS, then please be sure that it is a picture of a character you are playing to avoid confusion. If you are applying for more then one character, please put the names of the characters you play in your signature-So we know who's who.
- Above all else. And this is one of the most important rules. Have fun!
- NPCs can be useful, and be used within reason. However, the main purpose of an NPC is for small inconsequential plot lines (such as running a small unimportant errand, delivering a message or sending for another member's character), they can also be used as punching bags and to be killed, without losing a playable character. That is all. They are not intended for large plot happenings; contact a member if you have a plot you wish to RP.
- You can apply for a mystic character the same way you'd apply for a Canon or OC. Just add what their power and weakness is in the comment section of the application. Be sure to separate the power and weakness; to make it an easier read.
- As of now, a member is allowed to play two mystic characters. One from each tribe. You cannot play two Jellicle or two Hench mystics.
- There will only be ten mystic characters allowed on the board.
- It will be balanced. Only five mystics allowed in each tribe. However, if we get an overwhelming amount of characters in the Jellicle tribe (or vice versa); then the opposite tribe will be allowed to have more mystics. Instead of 5/5, it'll be 6/4.
- The Admins reserve the right to deny any mystic character requests.
- Your mystic can only have one power. If you list more then one ability, then the second ability must somehow relate to their first ability. If the admins are uncomfortable with the second ability, you'll be asked to drop it back down to one. If you list a third abilitiy, the admins will deny your mystic character application. Also, no character is invincible, even the 'cool' mystic wielding characters. So you must list an appropriate weakness. If you have two abilities, then you must have two weaknesses as well. Feel free to list as many weaknesses as you want.
Jellicle Mystics: 2/4
Hench Mystics: 5/6
Total: 6/10
