Family: Tantomile (twin sister), Jemima (younger sister)
Personality: Coricopat isn’t one of those bubbly, out going sort of fellows. Instead, this tom keeps to himself for the most part, and rarely reveals anything about himself. His life isn’t anyone else’s responsibility nor business after all, and he would much prefer to keep it that way. Only his twin knows his deepest, darkest secrets, and to be honest, she probably knows more about him than he does. Nevertheless, Coricopat remains as vague and unreadable as possible. It is probably in everyone’s best interest that he insists on doing so.
To intensify his mysterious, aloof behavior, Coricopat doesn’t have much to say. He never has, and he probably never will. Its not like he doesn’t enjoy a good chat every now and then, but Cori isn’t the type to indulge himself in small talk. He would much rather prefer to listen; one learns better that way. In other words, he observes. While you talk, he’ll watch you. He’ll read your emotions, your change in pitch and tone, your body language, etc, and he will get all he needs out of you just by doing that. There is no point in asking someone about their day if he can already sense what their answer is going to be. Despite this though, Coricopat will humor his fellow jellicles if they are really just dying to have a conversation, but just be prepared to do most of the talking.
Coricopat isn’t all serious eyes and a quiet demeanor, oh no. He enjoys a good rough about in the mud every now and then. He loves to play about with younger kittens, and will even approach those around his age with a little smirk and a shove. It is probably why is relationship with Jemima is such a strong one. Cori has been known to walk behind his fellow jellicles every now and then and flick them behind the ear (and occasionally pounce) just to see what their reaction might be. He knows that it annoys some, but what do they expect? Do they expect him to sit motionless and observant all day long? Oh no. In addition, while his smiles are not broad and frequent, his grins do not part his lips but twitch at the corner of his lips in a rather pleasant way.
Coricopat’s mysticism can be a bother to him at times. He is honored to have been gifted with it, but it has caused him quite a bit of heart ache throughout the years. He is thankful for the fact that his power shave assisted the tribe, but sometimes he feels as if he knows too much – feels too much. Cori tries to shield his mind at times from picking up on the tiniest details, but it just doesn’t work. He is learning to deal with it, after all, some cats aren’t meant to live peaceful, care free lives. Some are meant for greater things, and he and his twin will just have to cope.
History: Coricopat is the eldest twin, and the only son of Rhaella. His father was very in and out when he was young, and while he remembers his father, very few memories include him. What he does know is that he and Tantomile’s abilities are inherited from him, and that he was a mystic himself. Whether or not his father is still alive, he does not know. For some reason, Cori seems to think that he is, but he has no desire to seek his father out at this point in his life.
Jemima was born a few years after he and Tantomile, and while her birth was a joyous occasion, a year later their mother died, leaving Coricopat and Tantomile to care for and raise their younger sister. While Tantomile was nearly inconsolable, Coricopat took it upon himself to be the “strong one,” and tried to provide for his sisters as his mother did before him. He’ll admit, he was a pretty poor “mother,” but Cori did his best. Mortality became a real thing to him then, and understanding that pain and suffering were inevitable, Cori became extremely protective of both of his sisters - far more so the younger due to her age and innocence. He tried to shield Jemima, but after she had snuck out numerous times without his permission, Coricopat has come to realize that you can only protect another so much. Eventually they “leave the nest,” and what hold you once had on them just isn’t there anymore. It was hard for Coricopat to come to this conclusion, but after making a few personal arrangements, Coricopat feels a bit more comfortable at letting Jemima spread her wings, so to speak.
Said arrangements were made prior to the previous ball. While Coricopat’s ties are with the Jellicles, Coricopat met with Macavity in private and in exchange for Tantomile and Jemima’s safety, Coricopat would offer his services to Macavity. This was the only way in his mind to keep Macavity’s goons away from his sisters, and would assure that they were “untouchable.” He doesn’t enjoy using his gifts to benefit Macavity, but with every decision there are consequences, and the safety of his family exceeds all other concerns.
Currently, Coricopat is in limbo with Macavity and the Jellicle Tribe. His affiliation with Macavity has been kept a secret, and if Cori has anything to do with it, he’ll keep it that way. He is sure Tantomile knows, but he knows his twin wouldn’t tell anyone – not without consulting with him first. In fact, he is sure she knows. She just understands the consequences of telling, and has kept his secret quiet for everyone’s sake.
Powers: Coricopat and Tantomile are telepathic. They can read minds - their minds and everyone else's. Cori does not read minds unless asked, or given permission to by the person he is reading. They tend to know what the other is about to say or do, which can result in synchronized movements and sentences. They can even speak to each other through thought, but only to each other; no one else. Coricopat and Tantomile are also very in tune with the world around them. They can sense subtle changes within the earth and the air; things that the normal cat cannot. For example, they can sense when storms are brewing long before the thunderclouds began to form, and feel the vibrations of a construction site miles away. They are just extremely sensitive and observant, which make them exceedingly unique and interesting.
Weaknesses:Because he and Tantomile are so sensitive to the world around them, they can obtain horrid headaches. If he reads a mind that is extremely active, Cori can become extremely weak in the knees and sick to his stomach. He can recover quickly, within an hour at most, but it is the consequence of exerting too much mental energy.
